About Wonder + Light

Hi! I'm Lauren!  I am a Texas native, but I currently live in the OKC area.  My husband and I lived in 7 states within a span of 10 years. My favorite things are family, salsa, travelling, and puzzles. I am mommy to three and proud human to a great dane and a snuggly cat. I strongly dislike toes, though I’m quite fond of my own and solving creative challenges is my superpower!

 I studied fine arts at Texas Tech University, though I chose to pursue family over academia, and never looked back. I independently studied and developed multiple creative disciplines during the early childhood years until I was introduced to my first dslr in 2015. With the drive of my insatiable creative appetite, I taught myself to properly wield a camera through the help of youtube, online workshops, and lots of trial and error. In early 2016, I landed a gig developing a retail product portfolio for a couple of boutiques in Dallas, TX. Since then, I have acquired experience in several photographic genres including weddings, families, products, and the 19th century analog wet plate collodion process. After all of this I have chosen conceptual fine art and fine art portraiture as my bread and butter.

Creating conceptual fine art helps me to move through areas brokenness and cultivate a community with people in process. I am passionate about professional and creative mentoring and the cultivation of artistry in others while building community in all creative genres.
